What is Korea No.1 about?
The show is hosted by Yu Jae-Suk, Lee Kwang-soo and Kim Yeon-koung. The trio travel all around Korea to learn from different traditional masters and compete to be the best apprentice. Throughout the show, they immerse themselves physically and mentally in traditional labour. We have an extensive review of Korea No.1 across the site, including a full season review and recaps for every episode. You can find those HERE!
Has Korea No.1 been renewed for season 2?
Unfortunately, Netflix is yet to make an official statement about the fate of the show but the series has been receiving good responses from both viewers and critics. Generally, Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future. It’s still hard to determine the likelihood of the show being renewed or cancelled, but we will be sure to keep you updated as soon as it is announced.
What we know about season 2 so far:
There is still a lot of traditional culture the show can explore. Korea has a rich culture and they still uphold their traditional values. It will be fun if the trio can learn Jultagi (traditional Korean performance of tightrope walking) or weaving using hemp which is at risk of becoming extinct. Read More: Korea No 1 Season 1 Review
