What is Tekken: Bloodline about?

The plot centers on Jin Kazama, a talented fighter haunted by a horrific incident involving his mother, Jun Kazama, when he was a kid. Trained by his grandfather, Heihachi, to unleash his true potential, Jin eventually enters the King of Iron Fist tournament to avenge his mother and stop the monstrous Ogre. But is Jin strong enough to overcome his demons and fight through a litany of talented and powerful fighters? We have coverage of Tekken: Bloodline across the site, including a full season review. You can check that out HERE.

Has Tekken: Bloodline been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, Tekken: Bloodline has not been renewed for a second season. Given the way this story ends, it could go either way. In the games, Tekken 3’s story literally ends at the same point as the anime. Generally Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future. So far, Tekken: Bloodline has had a pretty good reception with most critics giving this show decent reviews and audiences (at the time of writing) pretty positive about the way Tekken has been adapted into anime format. Taking everything into consideration, we’re predicting that Tekken: Bloodline will not be renewed for a second season. There’s definitely potential here but the story feels like it reaches a natural conclusion, given the way Tekken 3 ends. We could be wrong of course, and if there’s enough buzz with this one we could see another tournament and Jin return once again. We’ll be sure to update this section with accurate details over the coming weeks and months when we know more!

What we know about season 2 so far:

Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point, given Netflix have not green-lit a sequel. The conclusion does seem to close things out in a natural way, with Jin throwing the pendant over to Xiaoyu and flying off into the sunset. If this one is renewed, we could well see Jin return or another time jump forward, with more characters from the games making an appearance. For now though, we’re under the impression that there will not be another season. We’ll be sure to update this page in the future when more information is known though!
