You Are My Spring is the latest Mon/Tues Korean drama, streaming weekly on Netflix. Generally each episode can be found on the streaming giants shortly after broadcast, with the hard-working subtitle team translating quickly. This 16 episode drama has been a real hodgepodge of different ideas, with a murder and thriller aspects blending with a more sentimental healing drama and romantic pairing.
What is You Are My Spring Season 1 about?
You Are My Spring is a genre-hopping K-drama that starts as a murder mystery and eventually evolves into more of a romcom. Kang Da-Jeong and Ju Young-Do find themselves joining together and forcing a unified bond in the wake of a murder that turns their apartment complex upside down. As detectives race to solve the case, Young-Do and Da-Jeong grow closer together and end up romantically linked. Has You Are My Spring been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, tvN and Netflix has not renewed You Are My Spring for season 2. It’s very rare that Korean dramas do get renewed, with most decidedly wrapping up their story across 16 episodes. However, Netflix do have a reputation of green-lighting these projects so we’ll have to wait and see. The ratings have been pretty good for this K-drama, especially given it’s early week slot. However, the highest rated episode is actually the first, which saw a respectable 3.390% before dropping to between 1.9-2.8%. Based on this, and the sporadic jumping of genres across the run-time, we predict that You Are My Spring will not be renewed. We’ll be sure to update this section with more details as the season progresses.
What we know about season 2 so far
Most Korean dramas are reserved to one season and with the rare exception of ongoing Netflix shows (Love ft. Marriage and Divorce, Hospital Playlist etc.) then it seems unlikely that this one will be renewed.
