If you have seen and enjoyed this new movie you might be interested in a sequel. But will there be a Christmas Bloody Christmas 2? Or will you have to look for another movie for which to scare away your in-laws on Christmas Day? Here’s what we know at the time of writing.
What is Christmas Bloody Christmas about?
The movie is set on Christmas Eve and it follows the story of Tori (Riley Dandy), a young woman who falls afoul of a robotic Santa Claus (also known as RoboSanta) when it goes haywire and proceeds to go on a murderous rampage. Tori is forced into a blood-splattered battle for survival against the mechanical menace when it starts to pursue her. Is this her last Christmas? Or does she survive Christmas Eve in one piece? Will there be a Christmas Bloody Christmas 2?
A sequel hasn’t been officially announced but when speaking on The Boo Crew podcast, the director of the movie Joe Begos expressed an interest in making not one but two sequels to Christmas Bloody Christmas. When talking about sequences that didn’t make it into the film, he made mention of the sequels he has in mind. He said: As Begos has managed to get the rights to make at least one sequel, there is a chance that Christmas Bloody Christmas 2 could happen. But as for whether or not it ever sees the light of day, we can’t say for sure at this stage. But I like that set-up, I wish I could have figured that out, but I just didn’t have time. Maybe in the sequel. If the movie does good this week, my dream is to do two and three simultaneously. I have an idea for two and three that are really strong. I’ve never wanted to sequelize a movie I’ve done before, and I want to sequelize this so bad. I made sure I got the sequel rights in our original contract.”
What could happen in Christmas Bloody Christmas 2?
In the first movie, there were news reports about other rampaging RoboSanta’s. As such, we can expect the sequel to concentrate on one or more of these robots, perhaps with Tori at the centre of the story again. When talking about sequels on The Boo Crew podcast, the director hinted at the possibility of setting it in a shopping mall, so we could get a movie like Dawn of the Dead, only with robot Santas causing murderous mayhem instead of zombies.
When could Christmas Bloody Christmas 2 be released?
Christmas 2023 could be a possibility if the director is able to get a sequel off the ground or perhaps even the Christmas after. These are just speculations but if we do hear news of a sequel, its plot, and a release date, we will update this page with the relevant information.
